Toxic Air Samplers
ATEC produces several automated samplers that combine canister, cartridge, and/or hexavalent chromium (Cr6) filter sampling all in one instrument.
ATEC 2200 Toxic Air Sampler
The ATEC Models 2200 and 2200-2 Toxic Air Samplers are self-contained air sampling instruments that have been specifically designed to simultaneously collect air samples into canisters and sorbent cartridges for specified time periods. This provides the capability of obtaining both VOC and carbonyl measurements at the same time with one easy-to-use instrument. The flow rates into the canisters and cartridges are regulated using electronic mass flow controllers. A single board internal computer with a color touch screen display provides flexible scheduling, error checking, and data logging capabilities. These samplers can be configured for either sub-ambient or pressurized canister sampling as well as collocated sampling of either canisters or cartridges using independent mass flow controllers. Multi-port expansion units can be added to provide additional canister and cartridge sampling.
ATEC 3400 Toxic Air Sampler
The Model 3400 Toxic Air Sampler is designed to sample both toxic gases and particulates using one easy to use instrument. The Model 3400 can be ordered with up to 4 sample channels. The sample is ideally suited for use in the NATTS program, since it can simultaneously sample one canister, one carbonyl DNPH cartridge, and two hexavalent chromium (Cr6) filter samples. The sampling methods employed in the Model 3400 follow the guidelines outlined in EPA Methods TO-11A, TO-14, TO-15, and the improved CARB method for Cr6 recently developed by EPA and ERG.
The flow rate through each channel is regulated with reliable mass flow controllers. A single board internal computer with a color touch screen display provides flexible scheduling, error checking, and data logging capabilities. The sampler is available in either an indoor or outdoor version.
